To crop an image into a circle shape in Adobe Photoshop, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Image:

Launch Adobe Photoshop and open the image you want to edit by going to “File” > “Open” and selecting the image file from your computer.

  1. Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool:

In the Photoshop toolbar, click and hold the Rectangular Marquee Tool, then select the “Elliptical Marquee Tool” from the flyout menu.

Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool

  1. Draw a Circular Selection:

Position the cursor at the top-left corner of the image, press and hold the left click key and Shift key, and drag(3 fingers active) the Elliptical Marquee Tool to draw a perfect circle selection. Holding the Shift key ensures that the selection remains proportional. Make sure to release the left click key and Shift key the same time to keep the perfect circle

  1. Inverse the Selection:

With the circular selection active, go to “Select” > “Inverse” (or press Shift + Ctrl + I on Windows or Shift + Command + I on Mac). This inverses the selection, making the area outside the circle selected instead of the circle itself.

  1. Delete the Outside Area:

Press the “Delete(backspace)” key on your keyboard. The area outside the circular selection will be deleted, leaving a circular image.

  1. Deselect and Save:

To remove the selection, go to “Select” > “Deselect” (or press Ctrl + D on Windows or Command + D on Mac).

Deselect and Save

Finally, save your cropped circular image by going to “File” > “Save As” and choosing a suitable file format (e.g., JPEG or PNG). Give the file a new name to preserve the original image.

By following these steps, you can quickly crop an image into a circle shape using Adobe Photoshop.
